Since 2016, there has been this beautiful breakfast paradise: Café Avi. Since then, it has become an important meeting point for people of all ages who wish to enjoy delightful moments in a relaxed atmosphere and accompanied by very pleasant music.

On 1st May 2024 – exactly two years after I worked as the service manager for the predecessor at the café (start: 1st May 2022) – I took over the café with the same concept. Since then, the café has become my second home, and I pour all my passion into all my creations.

What has always impressed me is the concept of breakfast: it is the most important meal of the day. You start the day off right with a delicious meal. Therefore, it is particularly dear to my heart that our guests feel comfortable in the café – and everything is personally prepared by me with a lot of love.

Only homemade sweet spreads are served at the table, including the delicious Franzbrötchen cream that makes many customers truly addicted, as well as jams. There are also savoury dips, such as creamy curry-date cream and avocado mash. For vegans and anyone who wants to eat consciously, we also offer a delicious smoothie bowl as well as a muesli bowl with homemade granola and fresh fruit on our menu.

At Avi, you not only get breakfast, but also daily baked lunch dishes: various quiche variations, grilled sandwiches made from Sylter bread, soups, potato casseroles, and – brand new this year on the menu – a vegetarian vegetable lasagne in Italian style. The recipe comes from my homeland: Italy.

Since I have been running the café myself, I also offer the possibility of having our delicacies delivered to your home – via three portals: Wolt, Lieferando, and Uber Eats. I developed this concept for our customers who like to enjoy our food at home, especially in winter and the cold season.

In the afternoon, our guests can also enjoy my homemade cakes: the classic cheesecake, the gluten-free chocolate tart, the moist carrot cake, and the vegan banana bread must not be missed. On weekends, there is also an Italian tiramisu, created by me.

Of course, we serve the best coffee in the whole area.

In summer, I use a corner of the shop as an ice cream café – with our ice cream counter and 10 flavours from the renowned Italian ice cream maker BRUNO. With this, I want to offer families and children the opportunity to enjoy good, high-quality ice cream on hot days – right on our large, sunny terrace, one of the prettiest in Hamburg.

But that’s not all: in summer, the café stays open longer to offer our guests an after-work aperitif with snacks and alcoholic beverages such as Aperol Spritz, Capresecco, and Avi Spritz (get ready to be surprised).

On weekends and in summer, reservations are essential!
